A café in Jounieh Souks for breakfast, coffee and a quiet hour
Luciole is a café and bistro on the first floor of the Chiha Building in Jounieh Souks, open to everyone, with or without kids. You can come for coffee, a croissant breakfast, a salad at lunch or a quiet hour with a view over the souks, from Tuesday to Sunday, 8 am to 10 pm.

Most people find us because of the kids' atelier. Then they discover the café and come back on their own. That is how it should be. The café is a separate coffee shop space, calm and bright, and you do not need a child with you to sit down, order and stay a while.
Students come with their notes. Friends meet before a walk in the souks. Dads read the news over a croissant. Someone on a lunch break orders a sandwich and looks out over the roundabout for twenty minutes. Nobody asks why you are here.
Where exactly is the café?
Luciole is in the Chiha Building, 1st floor, Jounieh Souks, in Keserwan. The café windows look over the old souks and the roundabout, which is one of the reasons people like to linger. The kids' atelier is on the same floor, in its own space, so the café stays quiet.
What can you have for breakfast in Jounieh at Luciole?
Breakfast is built around croissants and simple, generous plates. A few favourites from the menu:
| Dish | Price |
|---|---|
| Cheese, thyme or chocolate croissant | $2.5 |
| Almond croissant | $3 |
| Croissant with jam & butter | $5 |
| Gourmet egg croissant | $9 |
| Turkey & cheese croissant | $10 |
| Honey & ariché open sandwich | $11 |
| Omelette | $12 |
If you want something lighter, the super bowls are a good start to the day: an avocado, honey & peanut butter bowl ($8) or the à la grecque bowl ($10). The menu may change with the season, so ask the team what is on today.
Is it just a coffee stop, or can you eat a proper meal?
Both. Many people come for an espresso and stay for lunch. The bistro side of the menu covers the whole day:
- Salads: apple & brie ($13), kale & quinoa ($16).
- Sandwiches: from an open-face tuna ($7) to a croque monsieur or a turkey & cheese ciabatta ($13).
- To share: Greek feta dip, creamy spinach dip, baked feta, sun-dried tomato hummus, crab rolls, smoked salmon & cream cheese bites ($8 to $11).
- Desserts: Nutella mousse or vanilla pudding ($5), cheesecake ($8), tiramisu balls ($13).
Coffee is served all day, from espresso to milky drinks. If you are in a hurry, takeaway and delivery are available too.
Who is the café for?
Everyone. We say it often because people are sometimes surprised. Luciole was founded by two moms, Jinane and Sophanie, and yes, there is a kids' atelier next door. But the café is its own place, and it is open to:
- university students looking for a calm table to study
- remote workers who need Wi-Fi and a power outlet
- groups of friends meeting for coffee or an evening bite
- dads, single fathers and parents, with or without the kids
- anyone who simply wants a good coffee and a quiet hour
If you do have children with you, they can join a workshop or supervised play in the atelier while you sit in the café (the atelier keeps its own hours, listed below). You can read more about that in our guide to kids' workshops in Jounieh.
Is it quiet enough to read or work?
Yes. The café is a separate room from the atelier, so you are not sitting in the middle of a play area. There is Wi-Fi and there are power outlets, which is why students and freelancers have started to make it a regular stop. If that is you, our article on studying in a café in Jounieh has a few practical tips.
Can I come with a group?
You can. Groups can book a table in advance by sending us a message on WhatsApp. We are open every evening until 10 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, which makes the café an easy place to meet friends in Jounieh for an evening coffee or a bite after work.
Events like live music evenings are coming soon. Follow @luciole.lebanon on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook to hear about them first.
