Kids' workshops in Jounieh: what children learn and how to choose one

By Jinane & Sophanie, founders of Luciole··6 min read

Kids' workshops are small, guided sessions where children learn a hands-on skill and take home something they made. In Jounieh, Luciole runs workshops in arts and crafts, building, cooking, music and sensory play in Jounieh Souks. Here is what each type teaches, and how to choose the right workshop for your child.

Types of kids' workshops

Arts and crafts

Painting, collage, clay and seasonal crafts. Children learn to mix colours, handle a brush and plan a small project from start to finish. Read more in arts and crafts workshops for kids in Keserwan.

Building and construction

Wooden blocks, simple models and structures that have to stand up. This is early engineering: balance, patience and a lot of trial and error.

Little chefs (cooking)

Children mix, knead, shape and decorate with child-safe tools while adults handle the oven. They practise measuring, following steps and trying new tastes. See cooking classes for kids in Jounieh.

Music and movement

Rhythm, songs and dance. Good for energetic children and for building listening skills and confidence in a group.

Sensory play for toddlers

For little ones aged 1 to 3, with a parent alongside. Textures, water, sand and sounds help toddlers explore safely. Here is why it matters: the benefits of sensory play for toddlers.

How to choose a kids' workshop in Jounieh

Ask these questions before the first session. A good atelier answers them clearly.

  1. Is it right for my child's age? Activities should match the age group. Toddlers need a parent with them.
  2. How big is the group? Smaller groups mean more help for each child.
  3. Who supervises? Ask who leads the session and who watches the children.
  4. How do check-in and pick-up work? Your child should be registered, with a phone number where you can be reached at all times.
  5. What about allergies? Tell the team in writing, especially for cooking workshops.
  6. What should my child wear? Comfortable clothes that can get a little messy.

What a workshop at Luciole looks like

  • You book on WhatsApp with your child's age and the time you want.
  • On arrival, you register your child and leave your number.
  • Your child joins a small group at the atelier table with an animator.
  • You stay in the café and bistro a few steps away, or go run your errands.
  • Your child comes back to you with paint on the sleeves and something to show.

Workshop or playground?

Parents often ask whether a workshop replaces the playground. It does not, and it should not. The playground builds strong bodies; the workshop builds skills and focus. We explain how to combine them in 10 reasons to add an atelier to your week.
