For brunch in Jounieh, Luciole's café & bistro in Jounieh Souks opens at 8 am from Tuesday to Sunday, with croissants, egg dishes, bowls, salads, sharing plates and desserts. Order a gourmet egg croissant or an omelette, add a dip to share, and finish with tiramisu balls.

Brunch is less about the clock and more about the mood. No rush, good coffee, a table full of plates to pick from, and nobody checking the time. That is exactly the kind of late morning our bistro was made for.

Here is how to do brunch at Luciole, from what to order to when to arrive.

When is the best time for weekend brunch?

On Saturdays and Sundays the café opens at 8:00 am and stays open until 10:00 pm, so brunch can start early or drift well past lunch. If you are coming as a group, send us a WhatsApp message beforehand and we will set a table for you.

During the week, the café also opens at 8:00 am from Tuesday to Friday. A weekday brunch is a quiet treat if you have a morning off. We are closed on Mondays.

Brunch for two

Our favourite combination: one gourmet egg croissant, one honey & ariché open sandwich, and a baked feta ($9) in the middle of the table. Sweet, savoury and something warm to share.

Brunch for a group

Order a spread of plates to share and let everyone pick. The sharing section works beautifully at brunch:

  • Greek feta dip ($8)
  • Crab rolls ($9)
  • Creamy spinach dip ($9)
  • Baked feta ($9)
  • Sun-dried tomato hummus ($10)
  • Smoked salmon & cream cheese bites ($11)

Add a couple of croissants and a salad, like the apple & brie ($13) or the kale & quinoa ($16), and you have a proper brunch table.

Late brunch, closer to lunch

If you arrive nearer to noon, the sandwiches take over. The croque monsieur ($13), the beetroot & Bulgarian cheese toast ($8) and the open-face tuna ($7) are all good brunch choices.

Save room for dessert

Tiramisu balls ($13) to share, cheesecake ($8), Nutella mousse ($5) or vanilla pudding ($5). A brunch without something sweet at the end is only half a brunch.

Where to sit

The café is a separate coffee shop space from the kids' atelier. It is quiet, and it looks out over Jounieh Souks and the roundabout. Ask for a table near the view if you want to watch the souks wake up on a weekend morning.

Coming with children? They can join a workshop or supervised play in the atelier (from 10:00 am on weekends) while you finish your coffee. Coming without? That is just as welcome. The café & bistro is open to everyone.

Who comes for brunch?

All kinds of people. Couples on a slow Sunday, groups of friends catching up after a long week, parents with little ones, someone alone with a book and a second coffee. You do not need a reason or a plan. Pick a table, order a few plates, and let the morning take as long as it wants.

Brunch at home instead?

Takeaway and delivery are available. Order croissants and a few sharing plates for a lazy Sunday on your balcony.

If brunch turns into an afternoon with friends, read our guide to meeting friends in Jounieh. And if you have kids along, our kids-friendly café in Keserwan answer explains how the two spaces work together.
