Is Luciole an indoor playground?
Not in the usual sense, and we would rather be honest about it. Luciole has no slides, no ball pit and no trampolines. What we do have is an indoor atelier with play areas, big drawing walls and small-group workshops led by trained animators.
Many parents who search for an "indoor playground in Jounieh" are really looking for a safe indoor place where their child is busy, supervised and happy for a while. If that is you, Luciole may be exactly what you had in mind, just quieter and more hands-on. If your child mainly wants to climb and jump, a soft-play venue is the better fit for that day. We wrote more about this choice in playground or kids workshop in Jounieh.
Indoor playground vs Luciole atelier: what is the difference?
| Typical indoor playground | Luciole atelier | |
|---|---|---|
| Main activity | Climbing, sliding, jumping, running | Making, drawing, building, cooking, free play |
| Energy level | High, great for burning off energy | Calmer, focused, hands-on |
| Equipment | Slides, ball pits, trampolines, climbing frames | Play areas, drawing walls, craft and building materials |
| Supervision | Usually parents watch their own child | Trained animators run workshops and drop-off play |
| What kids leave with | Tired legs and good memories | Something they made with their own hands |
| For parents | Seating near the play zone | A separate café and bistro |
Both have their place. Plenty of families mix the two across a week.
What indoor activities can kids do at Luciole?
Workshops run in small groups and children take home what they make:
- Arts & crafts: painting, clay, collage, recycled materials
- Science & STEM: slime, volcanoes, magnets, simple circuits
- Building & making: blocks, wooden models, construction challenges
- Little chefs: manakish, cookies, pizza, fruit plates
- Sensory play for toddlers, with a parent
- Seasonal workshops: Christmas ornaments, Halloween masks, Mother's Day gifts, Easter crafts
Between workshops there are play areas and drawing walls, so there is always something to do.
What ages is it for?
Luciole welcomes children aged 1 to 10.
- 1 to 3 years: sensory play, with a parent staying alongside.
- From 3 years: workshops and drop-off play.

Can I leave my child for a few hours?
Yes. From age 3, children can join supervised drop-off play by the hour, with trained animators. Rates are shared on WhatsApp.
Please think of it as a few hours of supervised play, not full-day daycare: Luciole is not a nursery or a replacement for one. It works well when you have an appointment, some errands or simply need a breather. Our guide to leaving kids for a few hours in Jounieh covers what to expect.
Where can I take kids in Jounieh when it rains?
Rainy afternoons are exactly when an indoor atelier earns its place. Kids can paint, build or bake while you stay warm and dry in the café. More ideas in rainy day kids activities in Jounieh.
What do parents do while kids play?
The café and bistro is a separate, quieter space with a view over Jounieh Souks. Have breakfast, a coffee or lunch, work on the Wi-Fi or catch up with a friend. No alcohol, no shisha. Luciole was founded by two moms, Jinane and Sophanie, and is open to every family: dads, grandparents, everyone.
