Working from a café in Jounieh: a guide for remote workers
If you need a work-friendly café in Jounieh, Luciole's café & bistro in Jounieh Souks has Wi-Fi, power outlets and a quiet room with a view, open from 8 am to 10 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. You can work there with a laptop for a few hours, with coffee and real food on hand from breakfast to dessert.

Working from home sounds great until the third day in a row at the kitchen table. Freelancers, remote employees and anyone between meetings know the feeling: you need a change of scene, a decent connection and a coffee you did not have to make yourself.
Here is what to look for in a work-friendly café in Jounieh, and how Luciole fits.
What makes a café good for working?
Use this checklist before you settle in anywhere with a laptop:
| What you need | Why it matters | At Luciole |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi | Emails, cloud files, video calls | Yes |
| Power outlets | A full day without battery stress | Yes |
| A quiet room | Focus and clear calls | Yes, the café is a separate space from the kids' atelier |
| Long opening hours | Early starts and late deadlines | 8 am to 10 pm, Tuesday to Sunday |
| Real food | No leaving the desk to find lunch | Breakfast, bowls, salads, sandwiches, desserts |
| A view | Something to rest your eyes on | Jounieh Souks and the roundabout |
Is the café quiet enough to work?
Yes. People sometimes assume a place with a kids' atelier must be noisy. At Luciole, the café is a separate coffee shop space. The workshops happen in the atelier, and the café stays calm. It is open to everyone: freelancers, remote workers, students, people meeting a client, or anyone who just wants a coffee. You do not need to have children with you.
Can I take calls?
A quiet room makes calls easier, and good manners make them easy for everyone around you. A few habits that help:
- Use headphones with a microphone, always.
- Keep your voice at table level.
- For a long video meeting, pick a quieter time of day.
- Mute when you are not speaking.
When is the best time to come?
Tuesday to Sunday, the café opens at 8:00 am and closes at 10:00 pm. That gives you a full working day and a long evening for deadlines. We are closed on Mondays, so plan your Monday from home.
What to eat during a work day
Good work needs fuel. A simple plan from our current menu (prices in USD, the menu may change with the season):
- Morning: coffee and a cheese, thyme or chocolate croissant ($2.5), or the gourmet egg croissant ($9).
- Mid-morning: the avocado, honey & peanut butter bowl ($8) keeps you going without slowing you down.
- Lunch: the kale & quinoa salad ($16), the light turkey sandwich ($12) or the truffle chicken sandwich ($10).
- Afternoon slump: another coffee and a vanilla pudding ($5) or Nutella mousse ($5).
- Working late: a croque monsieur ($13) or the apple & brie salad ($13).
In a rush? Takeaway and delivery are available too.
Café etiquette for laptop workers
- Order through the day. A coffee in the morning and lunch at noon is a fair trade for a table all day.
- Share outlets. Unplug when you are charged so someone else can top up.
- Keep your space tidy. One laptop, one notebook, one cup.
- Coming as a team? Book a table on WhatsApp first so we can set you up together.
Parents who work: a bonus
If you are a parent with a deadline, there is an extra option. Your child can join a workshop or supervised drop-off play by the hour in the atelier while you work in the café. On weekdays the atelier runs from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, so plan your focused afternoon around it. Our answer on getting focus time as a working parent in Lebanon explains how parents use it.
