At what age can my child stay at a play space without me?
Most supervised play spaces accept children without a parent from around age 3, once they are comfortable with other adults and can ask for help or the toilet. At Luciole, workshops and drop-off play start from age 3, and toddlers aged 1 to 3 join sensory sessions with a parent.

Signs your child is ready
- They can say when they need the toilet, water or help
- They have stayed with a grandparent, teacher or sitter before
- They enjoy playing near other children
- They can follow simple instructions from an adult
If your child is not quite ready
Start with a session together. Stay close for the first twenty minutes, then try a short break in the café. Build up from one hour to two.
Every child is different
Some three-year-olds walk in without looking back. Some five-year-olds need two or three visits. Both are normal. What matters is a calm routine and a team that knows how to welcome a nervous child.
More questions parents ask
Can a two-year-old attend with me?
Yes. At Luciole, toddlers aged 1 to 3 join sensory play sessions with a parent alongside.
What if my child cries when I leave?
Short, warm goodbyes and a clear return time help most. If your child is still upset after a while, the team will call you. Most children settle within two or three visits.
Do siblings of different ages stay together?
Siblings can play in the same space, and activities are adapted to each child's age.
