Halloween activities for kids in Jounieh (2026)

By Jinane & Sophanie, founders of Luciole··5 min read

Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday 31 October, so the whole weekend is free for family fun in Jounieh. Make simple crafts at home, choose costumes that are fun rather than frightening, then bring the kids to Luciole in Jounieh Souks, where seasonal workshops include Halloween masks and the café keeps parents happy.

Craft materials on the shelves of the kids' atelier at Luciole in Jounieh, ready for Halloween workshops

Halloween has quietly become a favourite in Lebanon. Kids love the dressing up, the colours and the excuse to make something a little spooky. Parents want the fun without the scary bits, the sugar overload or the stress. Good news: this year Halloween lands on a Saturday, and Luciole opens its doors on Tuesday 20 October, eleven days before.

Here is a simple guide to celebrating Halloween with kids in Jounieh and Keserwan, at home and out.

What can kids do for Halloween in Jounieh?

Three easy ideas cover the whole weekend: a craft afternoon at home, a costume the kids feel happy in, and a creative outing where they make something to take home. At Luciole, our hands-on workshops include seasonal themes, and Halloween masks are one of them. Children always take home what they make.

Easy Halloween crafts to make at home

You do not need a craft store. Paper, paint, glue and a bit of patience go a long way. Pick the idea that matches your child's age:

CraftBest forWhat you need
Handprint ghostsAges 1 to 3, with a parentWhite paint, dark paper, a marker for the eyes
Pumpkin paintingAges 2 and upA small pumpkin, washable paint, brushes or sponges
Paper plate masksAges 3 to 6Paper plates, crayons, string, safety scissors
Pipe cleaner spidersAges 4 to 7Pipe cleaners, pompoms, googly eyes, glue
Toilet roll bats and monstersAges 4 to 8Empty rolls, black and green paper, glue
Recycled lanternsAges 7 to 10Clean jars, tissue paper, glue, a battery tea light

Lay down newspaper, roll up sleeves and let them lead. A wobbly spider made by a four year old beats a perfect one made by a parent every time.

Costume tips that are not scary for little ones

Young children love dressing up but can be frightened by masks, blood or loud monsters, including their own reflection. A few gentle rules:

  • Go cute, not creepy. Friendly pumpkins, black cats, bats, wizards, ladybirds and superheroes are always winners.
  • Keep the face free. Face paint or a hat is easier than a full mask for toddlers, who often hate covering their eyes.
  • Comfort first. Soft fabrics, shoes they can run in and a layer for the evening.
  • Let them choose. A child who picks the costume wears it happily all day.
  • Skip the gore. If a costume might frighten a younger sibling or a friend, save it for when everyone is older.

A Halloween weekend plan in Jounieh

Halloween Saturday is an atelier day at Luciole, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and the café opens at 8:00 am. A simple plan:

  1. Morning: breakfast together at the café & bistro, kids already in costume.
  2. Late morning: a hands-on workshop or supervised play in the atelier while you finish your coffee in the separate, quiet café.
  3. Afternoon: a walk around Jounieh Souks to show off the costumes and the masks they made.
  4. Sunday: a slow day at home with the crafts from the table above.

Is there a Halloween workshop at Luciole?

Our seasonal workshops include Halloween masks, made in small groups with trained animators. The exact Halloween workshop schedule will be announced on Instagram @luciole.lebanon and on WhatsApp. Follow us or send a message to be among the first to know. For more rainy weekend ideas, see our guide to indoor kids activities in Jounieh.

Halloween ideas for toddlers

For children aged 1 to 3, Halloween is about textures and colours, not frights. Try a sensory tray with dry pasta, orange and black pompoms and a few plastic spiders to scoop and pour, or let them squish paint inside a sealed bag. At Luciole, toddlers join sensory play with a parent. Curious why it matters so much? Read about the benefits of sensory play for toddlers.

Can we have a Halloween-themed birthday?

Yes. If your child's birthday falls near the end of October, our birthday packages include a themed workshop for every child, and Halloween makes a fun theme. Send us your date and number of guests on WhatsApp and we will help you plan it.
